GoLocal Terms & Conditions (Effective from September 2025)

1. Introduction
Welcome to GoLocal! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the GoLocal Card and our services. By signing up and purchasing a GoLocal membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. What GoLocal Provides
GoLocal is a digital student membership card offering exclusive discounts and promotions at selected local businesses.

  • Discounts are subject to availability and terms set by each participating business.

  • Offers may vary, change, or be withdrawn at any time without notice.

3. Membership and Payments

  • Membership costs £1.99 per month, payable via direct debit through GoCardless.

  • Your first month is free (trial period). Payment collection begins automatically after your trial ends unless cancelled.

  • Membership is personal and non-transferable.

  • You must be a current university student to join and maintain an active membership.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • You can cancel your membership anytime via your GoCardless account or by contacting us.

  • If you cancel during your free trial, you will not be charged.

  • No refunds are provided for payments already made once the trial period has ended.

5. Use of Your GoLocal Card

  • Your GoLocal card must be presented at the time of purchase to access discounts.

  • Businesses reserve the right to refuse the discount if your membership is inactive, expired, or if the card is not shown.

  • GoLocal cards must not be copied, shared, or misused.

  • GoLocal reserves the right to suspend or terminate your membership for misuse.

6. Participating Businesses

  • Discounts are available only at listed and partnered businesses.

  • Businesses may impose specific conditions (e.g., discounts not valid with other promotions, minimum spends, specific days or times).

7. Expiration and Validity

  • Cards are automatically deactivated if your membership is cancelled or payments fail.

  • Expired cards cannot be used to claim discounts.

8. Changes to Services

  • We may update membership pricing, available discounts, or service terms at any time. You will be notified of any major changes at least 30 days in advance.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • GoLocal is not responsible for the quality of goods or services provided by partner businesses.

  • Our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for your membership.

10. Data Protection

  • We collect minimal personal data necessary to operate GoLocal (e.g., name, university email, graduation year).

  • We may share anonymised, aggregated data with partner businesses for operational and marketing purposes.

  • Your data is handled in accordance with our [Privacy Policy].
